A very common question from parents is, "When should I take my child to the dentist?"

The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends that children should see a dentist by their first birthday or within six months of the eruption of their first tooth, whichever comes first.

Taking your child to the dentist at an early age helps to establish good oral hygiene habits and can help prevent dental problems in the future. During the first dental visit, the dentist will examine your child's teeth and gums, check for any signs of decay, and provide guidance on how to care for your child's teeth.

It's also important to continue to take your child to the dentist regularly for check-ups and cleanings. Your dentist can recommend a schedule that's appropriate for your child's individual needs. In general, it's recommended that children have a dental check-up at least once every six months.

If your child is experiencing any dental pain, sensitivity, or other symptoms, it's important to schedule an appointment with a dentist as soon as possible, regardless of their age or when their last dental visit was.

It's important to establish good oral hygiene habits early in your child's life and to make dental visits a regular part of their healthcare routine. By taking your child to the dentist early and regularly, you can help to ensure that they have a healthy smile for life.
